Tajuddin’s claim proves that Anwar has enough support, says PKR info chief

JOHOR BARU: The latest statement by Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has proved that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did have sufficient support in parliament to regain power, says PKR’s information chief.

Datuk Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said the ex-Umno supreme council member also showed that the PKR President did not lie.

“His revelation showed Pakatan Harapan had what was needed to return to government after the people’s mandate was betrayed by the ‘Sheraton Move’.

“Tajuddin’s statement on Monday (June 27) had answered the ridicule faced by Anwar, whom many accused him of lying about having a strong and confident support when he said so on Sept 22, 2020, ” said Shamsul, who is also Hang Tuah Jaya MP.

He added Tajuddin also revealed the betrayal and personal agendas that had crippled efforts and attempts to regain Putrajaya.

“There should be no compromise for leaders who have been accused and convicted of corruption and disgusting wrongdoings.

“They must have their day in court because the law must be allowed to take its course,” Shamsul said.

At a press conference earlier, Tajuddin claimed that the statutory declaration (SD) to back Anwar for prime minister is real, with members of Umno signing in support.

He also claimed that Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi himself headed the gathering in seeking support for the SD.

Tajuddin also hit out against Ahmad Zahid, whom he deemed as not a president material, saying the latter should step down from the post.

“The party will lose with him leading. You can ask this to any member,” he said.
