Selangor BN convention: Slash affordable homes price by 50%, suggests Selangor MCA

SHAH ALAM: Selangor MCA has suggested the price of affordable homes under the Selangor state government programme be reduced by 50% if Barisan Nasional wins the state in the next general election.

MCA Selangor chief Ng Chok Sin said if Barisan comes to power in Selangor, the price of affordable housing should be slashed from RM250,000 per unit currently to RM125,000, in order to aid the rakyat.

“MCA Selangor would like to suggest that the national price of affordable housing be reduced from RM250,000 to RM125,000, a discount of 50%, under the Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS), on condition that Barisan wins back Selangor.

“MCA Selangor would also like to suggest that if Barisan wins Selangor, there will be efforts to improve efforts to benefit entrepreneurs, especially women, by providing them with capital, training and so on.

“There will be a one-stop centre consisting of all relevant government agencies to benefit entrepreneurs, in a bid to make Selangor the biggest entrepreneurial hub in the nation,” said Ng during his speech at the closing ceremony of the Selangor Barisan Convention 2022 at the Setia City Convention Centre here on Sunday (July 31).

Ng added that Selangor Barisan must also introduce a poster boy for the upcoming state elections as it is an effective strategy to reach voters.

Ng also said that since 2019, it has been evident that the rakyat’s trust was returning to Barisan, which lost federal power to Pakatan Harapan in the 14th general election the year before.

This was proven in Barisan’s victory in various by-elections as well as the Melaka and Johor state elections most recently, said Ng.

“The victories in previous by-elections and state elections surely inject us with more determination to work harder.

“Unity between component parties is very important and we must move as a team and continue the momentum to convince the rakyat that Barisan is the best choice,” said Ng.

He added that Selangor MCA intended to reach voters by using values of moderation and unity instead of sentiment or hate politics.

Meanwhile, Selangor MIC state chairman MB Raja in his speech said Barisan’s win in the next general election is crucial to ensure its survival.

He added that Barisan’s victory in the Melaka and Johor state elections showed that the people’s trust was back with the coalition.

“We must work hard from now on until we achieve our goal and take over Selangor,” he said.
