Santhara resigns as head of Bersatu’s associate member’s wing

JOHOR BARU: Segamat MP Datuk Seri Dr Edmund Santhara Kumar (pic) has resigned as the head of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s associate member’s wing.

However he is expected to continue as an ordinary member in Bersatu.

Sources said that he had informed the party leadership about his decision.

Dr Santhara was the first non-Bumiputera MP to join Bersatu in August 2020.

The former PKR man, who is also the deputy tourism, arts and culture minister, was made the head of Bersatu’s associate wing in September 2021.

Meanwhile the wing’s deputy head Dr Choong Fat Full when contacted and asked if he would be taking over as the wing’s head, he said that he would leave it to the party leadership to decide on the matter.
