Sabah Amanah: New Sabah cabinet an inclusive administration

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has described the new state cabinet formed on Wednesday (Jan 11) as an inclusive administration, with representatives from Pakatan Harapan (Pakatan) being absorbed.

Sabah Amanah chief Lahirul Latigu in welcoming the cabinet reshuffle, was referring to the two Pakatan assemblymen being appointed as cabinet ministers under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s helm.

“The appointments proved that the Chief Minister has always been open and receptive to forming a strong team to administer Sabah.

“This is the spirit that needed to be shown to Sabah folks, that close cooperation between leaders must be boosted in order to develop the state,” he said in a statement here.

The two Pakatan assemblymen are Api-Api representative Datuk Christina Liew and Luyang’s Ginger Phoong Jin Zhe.

Liew was appointed as state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, a portfolio she held back in 2018, while Phoong has the state Industrial Development Ministry portfolio.

Lahirul expressed hope that the Pakatan representatives in Sabah cabinet will be able to execute their tasks well for the people in this state.

“We also hoped for more Pakatan representatives added to Sabah’s administration to assist the Chief Minister in developing this state in order to bring progress for the people,” he added.
