Malaysia’s Permanent Representative to Asean Kamsiah Kamaruddin passes away aged 54

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s Permanent Representative to Asean in Jakarta, Kamsiah Kamaruddin, passed away on Thursday (March 31).

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, in a series of tweets, said Kamsiah has served in Wisma Putra since 1992.

She left behind husband Norman Muhammad, who is currently Malaysia’s ambassador to Manila and five daughters.

“It is with sadness that I have received news that Malaysia’s PR to Asean, Kamsiah Kamaruddin has passed away,” Saifuddin tweeted.

Kamsiah, 54, had previously served Wisma Putra in various capacities, including undersecretary for Americas, Europe and Deputy High Commissioner in Singapore.
