Leaders pay tribute to their mothers

KUALA LUMPUR: In honour of the Mother’s Day on Sunday (May 8), several leaders pay tribute to their mothers.

Through Facebook postings, they took the opportunity to recall all the sacrifices made by their mothers and share their photographs.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz thanked his mother for raising him.

“A mother’s sacrifice in raising us cannot be repaid, they only expect the love of their children until the end of life.

“Thank you mama for raising us. We wish you a good health and wealth,” said Tengku Zafrul, who also thanked all the mothers in the country for their innumerable sacrifices and contributions.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said there was no greater sacrifice than the sacrifice of a mother who gave birth and raised a child with love.

“The hand that rocks the cradle can shake the world. That is how great a mother’s role is in shaping the life of a child to become a useful human being for our family, society and country.

“It’s true that a mother’s love leads to heaven,” she said.

For Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun, a mother’s love knows no bounds.

She said nothing was more noble than the task and the role of a mother.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there, especially my mother Puan Taiyibah Haji Rusli,” she added. – Bernama
