‘It’s just politics,’ PCS chief says after mass party resignations

KOTA KINABALU: It is just part of politics, says Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Datuk Seri Anifah Aman after several party leaders left the party.

He said these members might have resigned from the party as they were worried that they would lose out once a reshuffling of the party is carried out.

He said there was a growing push from grassroots supporters to strengthen the party with a reshuffle.

“As a mature politician, I cannot stop them from leaving as they have the right to choose their political paths,” Anifah said in a statement Friday (Dec 17).

The former foreign minister wished them all the best and hoped that they would continue to put the people’s agenda first.

He also brushed off claims that PCS would be a dead party soon, saying that the party was getting stronger and gaining more supporters.

Earlier Friday, PCS central committee members, including its vice-presidents, quit the party.
