GE15: Kulai’s BN candidate Chua Jian Boon has never shown fear in the face of adversity, says Dr Wee

KULAI: Chua Jian Boon, who is MCA national public complaints and service bureau deputy chief, has never shown fear in the face of adversity, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Barisan Nasional candidate for the Kulai seat has received a boost of support from Dr Wee, who said that he sees himself in the young man.

“He was attacked by loan sharks for helping the people.

“This young man also had the courage to meet with then Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay to find ways to solve the people’s problem.

“I can see my younger self in him. Someone who is fearless and dares to do the right thing,” he said.

Dr Wee said this in his speech during a meet and greet with Kulai non-governmental organisations (NGO) and the Chinese community here.

Also present was Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, state housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor and Chua.

Dr Wee added that Chua, 29, has shown his capability through his service to the people of Kulai over the last few years.

“Today, we are here to show our support to Chua Jian Boon, who is MCA’s youngest candidate.

“We choose him to be our candidate, as we see how energetic, bright and determined he is. Even under tough circumstances, this young man still stands firm on his stance,” he said.

He added that the people of Kulai have always supported Barisan, even during difficult times.

“For the last two terms, the people of Kulai have given DAP a chance to represent them.

“Now, I hope that you can give your support to Chua,” he said.

Chua is facing a three-cornered fight against incumbent MP Teo Nie Ching from Pakatan Harapan and Tan Chin Hok from Perikatan Nasional.
