GE15: Creating job opportunities, efficient health care are among my KPIs, says Alor Gajah’s Shahril Hamdan

ALOR GAJAH: Creating job opportunities, efficient health care and education for all races is part of a five-year key performance index (KPI) set by Barisan Nasional’s candidate for Alor Gajah.

Shahril Hamdan said he will focus on developing Alor Gajah so that the local youths don’t need to search for jobs in nearby cities and outstation.

“Alor Gajah needs a steady flow of investments and more fiscal development to retain the young from migrating.

” This is my KPI for the constituency,” he said after attending a dinner and karaoke session at Taoist temple Sam Sin Bio at Durian Tunggal here on Monday night (Nov 7).

The event was also attended by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The 37-year-old, who is also an economic director at the Prime Minister’s Office, said that another initiative that he plans to spearhead if he wins in the 15th General Election is to ensure better healthcare in the constituency.

“I have met the electorates and they wished for a more efficient health ecosystem for Alor Gajah,” he said.

Shahril said he also met an Indian aunty who told him to ensure educational excellence for all locals.

“Many of them asked me to set up tuition classes for the local school-going children,” he said.

Shahril said he will champion all these initiatives for all races without neglecting any of the communities.

“My mother is Chinese and I have mingled with my Indian friends since young and I cherish all of them,” he added.

Shahril will contest against Melaka Pakatan Harapan chief Adly Zahari, incumbent Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusoff of Perikatan Nasional and Muhammad Nazriq Abdul Rahman of Gerakan Tanah Air in the 15th General Election.
