GE15: BN is politically stable, able to attract more investments, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional’s position as an experienced coalition would result in more investments from both local and foreign investors, says its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said Barisan would be able to attract more foreign investments compared with its rivals.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Umno president, added that Johor had become the number one investment hub in the country under Barisan rule.

“The political instability and constant changing of prime ministers throughout the past few years had spooked most investors.

“It was only when Barisan took back Johor did it become a prime spot for investment again compared with previously under Pakatan Harapan’s rule.

“Just the mere presence of Barisan’s leadership alone is able to attract investors as they know our coalition is the most politically stable,” said Ahmad Zahid.

The Umno president said this during a campaign rally for Wangsa Maju Barisan parliamentary candidate Datuk Seri Mohd Shafei Abdullah.

Ahmad Zahid added that in addition to the promises in its manifesto, Barisan would look to do more to attract investors should they win the 15th General Election.

Earlier this year, Barisan had usurped Pakatan’s hold of Johor by sweeping the 2022 Johor state election by winning 40 of the available 56 state seats.

Mohd Shafei added that a specific manifesto for Wangsa Maju would be released next week.
