Former newsreader still missing eight months on

SHAH ALAM: Former television newscaster Zalina Shaharah Azman, who was reported missing in November 2021, still has not been found despite all efforts made to track her down.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said, in a statement Monday (July 18), said Zalina’s son, Mikhael Norman, 33, had lodged a missing persons report over her disappearance on Nov 29, 2021.

The 58-year-old Zalina was discovered missing when Mikhael tried to contact her on Nov 24, 2021, to inform her that his grandfather had been admitted to the hospital.

“On Nov 29, Mikhael and his uncle visited her house in Section 3, Shah Alam and found that her car was still at home,” ACP Iqbal said.

He said that an inspection of the house, where Zalina was believed to have been staying alone, found it in a disorderd state while she was not home.

“Also found in the house was Zalina’s handbag, which contained her MyKad, driving licence, bank and credit cards, car keys and RM600 in cash,” he said.

He said the authorities had uploaded a social media post requesting public assistance in the search for Zalina and gave a description of the former TV personality, who had hosted TV3’s Money Matters programme, among others.

He said police have made a public announcement to assist in the investigation to look for the lightly-tanned-skinned woman who is 158 cm tall and weighs about 60 kg.

Those with information on Zalina’s whereabouts or any further information are urged to contact the investigating officer Sarjan Sabturia Lorong or the Section 6 Shah Alam police station at 03-5519 4622. – Bernama
