Digi shares our children’s view of the pandemic this National Day

For over a year, so many Malaysians have been impacted by the overwhelming effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. While we continue to do everything within our means to cope with these trying times, we can’t help but wonder what all of this means to our younger generation.
This is the simple yet poignant premise of Digi Telecommunications’ National Day video, aptly titled ‘Teladan’.
Through slices of life, the video relates the profound awareness children have towards the everyday struggles that their parents and people around them are facing to make ends meet for the family. Our young ones also pick up values such as the determination shown, as well as the kindness and generosity given to those who are more in need.
Often, this can have an enduring influence on these children, instilling important values that will remain with them throughout their lives.

“Perspective shapes the lens of which we view hardships and children have a unique way of seeing things optimistically,” said Bernard Lee, Digi’s Head of Marketing Services. “As they watch their parents find creative ways to make ends meet and give back to the community, they too will adopt this spirit of perseverance and compassion.”
Bernard added, “May we never forget the valuable lessons we are imparting to our children who will ultimately make up the future generation of leaders. On behalf of Digi, we would like to wish all Malaysians a Selamat Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia, and to stay safe at home.”
Naga DDB Tribal’s Creative Director, Ell Fernandez, said, “As the saying goes, through the eyes of a child, you will see the world as it should be, and this rings true for the real life lessons our children take away from all that’s happening around them.”
“Working on this video became a timely reminder for so many of us, of the simple values that keep Malaysians close in the face of adversity. The kids could not have said it better. As we celebrate our National Day, it is our hope that our future generations will always remember and live by the values we share today”, added Ell.
Selamat Hari Merdeka and Hari Malaysia to everyone, and thank you for going beyond to reach out and care for one another in these difficult times.
We will get through this.
