3,918 Residents In Hulu Langat To Go Under Lockdown Due To High Number of COVID-19 Cases

Government has announced that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be imposed on 700 houses at Sungai Lui in Hulu Langat, Selangor starting from 30 March until 13 April. This is the second EMCO implementation after similar order was imposed on two areas in Simpang Renggam, Johor earlier this week.

The EMCO will involve 3,918 people that are located between Batu 21 to Batu 24 of Sungai Lui which also covers two Orang Asli residential areas and five Malay villages. The decision to implement the lockdown is taken after 71 of 274 residents at Maahad Tahfiz An-Nabawiyyah in Batu 23 Sungai Loi were tested positive for COVID-19.

Juts like what happened in Simpang Renggam, no one will be allowed to enter or exit the affected area. All residents as well as visitors that already in the area will not be allowed to go out from their home until EMCO is over and food will be supplied to them by the Department of Social Welfare throughout the lockdown period while a Medical Base will be set up over there as well.

According to the latest statistic by the Ministry of Health, there are currently 2,470 positive cases of COVID-19 in Malaysia. 35 death have been recorded so far while 388 patients have managed to recover from the infection.

With that, please do you best to help stopping the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by always practicing good hygiene and stay home as much as you can. Only when we do it together, we can put an end to this pandemic.
