If you’re a fan of Japanese pop culture, then you’v probably heard of the manga publisher Shueisha. The company has announced that it is entering the video games industry officially, with the launching of its gaming arm Shueisha Games.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the company says that its wholly owned video games subsidiary will “combine its expertise of publishing along ith game development”. While it implies that Shueisha Games will be handling both game development and publishing, as it is now it looks to be more of the latter. The Shueisha Games website currently lists four  games from five different developers.

These games are likely a part of what is known as the Shueisha Game Creators Camp. It’s part of the company’s initiative to “further support game developers and entertainment creators of various mediums”.

The report includes a statement from the company which reads “we have been always working hand in hadn with creators to help turn their ideas into amazing works and deliver them to the world. Now, we would put out decades of experience into making games”.

For the unfamiliar, Shueisha was founded in 1925, and has published a fair number of popular manga titles. One Piece is undoubtedly one of the more popular ongoing series, with other examples including the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia.
