It has been rumoured that Samsung will hold its first Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2023, which is not too unlikely as the company has often done so before for several years now. Now, it appears that the South Korean tech brand’s Colombian branch may have jumped the gun and confirmed this via registration of interest page on its website, complete with a date that falls on 1 February – a detail which reliable leakster Ice Universe have suggested before this last month.
As most of us are aware by now, the main highlight of the forthcoming event is the unveiling of Samsung’s next generation flagship line-up, which is currently tentatively referred to as the Galaxy S23. And just in case you missed our previous coverage of the leaks surrounding the involved devices, it has been suggested that the series will consist of three variants: a standard and Plus models, as well as a high-end Ultra version – the only variant to come with an integrated S-Pen feature, much like its predecessor.
Besides unintentionally revealing the date, an image that serves as a teaser for the event shared by Samsung Colombia also confirmed the new design direction of the Galaxy S23 series. This is referring to the simplified triple camera setup that’s consistent on all three models, which is something that has been revealed in leaks shared by tech insider Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks).
Unfortunately, the teaser image and the registration page has already been taken down by the company, but not before getting the attention of several users who shared the discovery on Reddit. On that note, the page itself is already archived on WaybackMachine, which you can find through this link.
Speaking of discoveries, local database observer Kevin Ng TK claims to have found the listing of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in SIRIM’s database, along with a screenshot of the entry taken via MCMC’s Know Your Label app. If true, this indicates that the phone (and its siblings) would likely see a local launch soon, which is expected to either be around the same time or after the series’ official unveiling during next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
However, upon searching the database on our own in order to verify the claim, it appears that this particular entry has been removed. This is most probably to maintain the series’ local arrival a secret, which may explain why entries of the standard and Plus models are missing. That, or they’ve not received their respective approvals from SIRIM just yet.
