My50 Unlimited Travel Pass To Replace My30 On 1 January 2022

The My50 Unlimited Travel Pass will be replacing the existing My30 pass on 1 January 2022, as revealed by Transport Minister Ir. Wee Ka Siong earlier today. Available only for Malaysians, the pass was announced during the tabling of Belanjawan 2022 in October although its genesis can be traced all the way back to December 2018.

At that time, the original My50 pass which was introduced in Belanjawan 2019, is limited to bus rides as one need to obtain the My100 pass instead if they also want unlimited access to the LRT, MRT, Monorel, and BRT. The My30 pass then took over My50 and My100’s place in June 2020 as part of the Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA) stimulus package.

It was supposed to be discontinued at the end of December 2020 but was then extended for another year. Priced at RM 50 per month, the new My50 pass will continue to provide unlimited access to LRT, MRT, Monorel, BRT, Rapid KL buses, and Jom Naik MRT feeder buses.

On the same date, the My30 Mutiara pass which provides unlimited Rapid Penang bus rides will be replaced by the My50 Mutiara pass. Interesting enough, things will remain as it is for Rapid Kuantan users which previously able to obtain unlimited bus rides through the My30 Lestari pass.

Rapid KL Bus public transport

Meanwhile, My30 and My30 Mutiara pass holders can still utilize their pass until 30 January 2022 before they have to permanently move to My50 or My50 Mutiara passes. In terms of availability, the My30 pass can be obtained at all LRT, MRT, Monorel, and BRT stations.

Alternatively, the pass is also available at selected Rapid KL bus hubs including Pasar Seni, Chow Kit, KLCC, Sri Nilam, Puchong Utama, Pearl Point, Sunway Pyramid, Greenwood, and Seksyen 2 Shah Alam. On another hand, the My30 Mutiara pass is currently being offered at Rapid Penang kiosks in KOMTAR, Weld Quay’s Terminal B, Penang Sentral, Bukit Jambul, Kompleks Dato’ Kailan Kepala Batas, Balik Pulau, and Bukit Mertajam.
