Motorola has unveiled a new flagship phone for the US market, the Edge Plus (2023). It seems that the new phone is just a renamed version of the Edge 40 Pro that was launched last month since it shares most specs, dimensions, and design, although it did make a slight tweak to the battery.

The Motorola Edge Plus (2023) sports a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with curved edges, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 165Hz. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both sides, rated at IP68 for dust and water resistance, and on the software side, the brand promises three years of OS updates and four years of security updates.

Inside, the flagship runs on the top-end chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Connectivity-wise, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.

Motorola equipped the device with a triple-camera setup on the back consisting of a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide that doubles as a macro lens, and a 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. On the front side, the punch hole cutout houses a 60MP selfie snapper that can do 4K recording at 60 FPS.

Powering the competitive flagship is a large 5,100mAh battery, up from the Edge 40 Pro’s 4,600mAh capacity, which claims a battery life of up to 40 hours. For charging, it supports 68W wired and 15W wireless along with 5W reverse wireless charging, meaning it can act as a power bank for other devices.

The Motorola Edge Plus (2023) starts from US$799 (~RM3,560) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While it’s coming to North America at the end of the month, the company has yet to announce the phone’s availability in other markets.
