Free Tolls Are Coming To PLUS and LPT Highways This Weekend

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob has announced that highways under the management of PLUS Berhad will be waiving their toll fees this coming weekend to benefit those who are heading to their hometown for Hari Raya. In addition to that, the same also applies to highways that are under the purview of ANIH Berhad.

For clarity, here is the full list of highways that will provide free tolls later this week.

  • North-South Expressway (PLUS)
  • Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH)
  • Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)
  • Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA)
  • Penang Bridge
  • East Coast Expressway (LPT) Phase 1 and 2
  • KL-Karak Expressway

Ismail noted that the free tolls will be implemented at 12:00 AM on Saturday, 30 April and will last until 11:59 PM on the following day, 1 May. Meanwhile, other tolls within the country will also be providing discounts between 30% to 50% during the same period:

Highways with 50% Discount

  • Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS)
  • Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP)
  • Cheras-Kajang Expressway (GRAND SAGA)
  • Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA)
  • New Pantai Expressway (NPE)
  • Ampang-KL Elevated Highway (AKLEH)
  • KL-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX)
  • Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE)

Highways with 30% Discount

  • Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART)
  • Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE/GUTHRIE)
  • KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR)
  • Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB)
  • Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA)
  • Kajang (SILK)
  • Sultan Abul Halim Muda’zam Shah Bridge / Penang Bridge 2
  • South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE)
  • Western KL Traffic Dispersal System (SPRINT)
  • Kajang-Seremban Expressway (LEKAS)
  • New North Klang Straits Bypass (GRAND SEPADU)
  • Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE)
  • West Coast Expressway (WCE)

These benefits will apply to all types of vehicles that pass through these highways. The toll waivers and discounts apparently carry a cost of RM 77.11 million which will be borne by the government and highway concession companies that are involved in this implementation, according to the Prime Minister.
