Dota 2 Players Can Get A Free Arcana By Playing 10 Games

The International 2022 Swag Bag

The grand finals of The International 2022, or TI 11, will be played over this weekend in Singapore. In conjunction with the final leg of the tourney, Valve has unveiled what it calls The International 2022 Swag Bag. This is a free giveaway for all Dota 2 players, with some amazing content, but with an unlock condition.

As Valve details it, The International 2022 Swag Bag contains three things. The first one is a month of the Dota Plus, which is a subscription that provides a myriad of benefits. Primarily though, this would benefit Dota 2 players who are seriously looking to improve in the game, since it also provides statistical analysis of your games.

The next item is probably the least exciting of them all, but it’s still a Level 1 Battle Pass. You can also use this to redeem 24 Battle Levels of your current battle pass as well.

Last on the list is certainly the opposite of least, as this is a free Arcana. For those who don’t know, Arcana items are among the rarest items in the game. They almost completely overhaul the visuals of a hero and their skills, making for very unique cosmetics without touching their actual mechanics. This Swag Bag lets you pick one Arcana from any of the available ones on the Dota 2 store.

To unlock The International 2022 Swag Bag though, you must play (or have played) at least 10 matches during the Battle Pass season. For hardcore fans of Dota 2, you may have already met the unlock conditions before even getting the Swag Bag. But for more casual fans, this can mean up to 10 hours, assuming each game stretches to a full hour. And you’ll have until the end of this season, which is January, to unlock it.

The International 2022 Swag Bag may be an initiative by Valve to boost Dota 2 player numbers, to in turn boost Battle Pass sales. As previously reported, TI 11 started off strong, but it may be the first time the annual tournament ends up with a smaller prize pool than previous iterations. Just one day before the grand finals, the prize pool is sitting at US$18.2 million, which is lower than the US$18.4 million prize pool of TI 5 back in 2015.
